A celebration cake is usually the one thing every guest remembers — it is in every photo, it is the moment everyone gathers around, and it is the last taste of the party. After baking thousands of cakes in our Kamla Nagar kitchen, we have noticed that the happiest customers are the ones who thought about a few simple things before ordering.
Here is the exact checklist we walk through with every customer, so you can choose a cake that looks beautiful, tastes amazing and is just the right size.
Start with the occasion and the guests
Before you think about flavours or decorations, picture the celebration itself. A cosy family birthday, an office farewell and a wedding anniversary dinner all call for very different cakes.
- Who is the cake for? Kids usually love chocolate and bright, fun designs. Grown-ups often prefer something lighter like fresh fruit or a less-sweet truffle.
- Where will it be served? An outdoor summer party needs a cake that holds up in the heat — fondant and ganache travel better than soft whipped cream.
- Is it the main dessert? If there are mithai and other sweets on the table, you can order a slightly smaller cake.
How much cake do you need?
This is the question we are asked most. Use this as a rough guide for regular party slices:
| Cake weight | Serves about | Perfect for |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 kg | 4–6 people | Small family celebrations, couples |
| 1 kg | 8–12 people | Birthdays at home, small office parties |
| 1.5 kg | 12–18 people | Family get-togethers |
| 2 kg | 16–24 people | Bigger birthday parties |
| 3 kg and above | 25+ people | Large events, tiered and theme cakes |
Baker’s tip: when in doubt, size up by half a kilo. Leftover cake is never a problem — running out before everyone gets a slice is.
Pick a flavour everyone will love
When you are feeding a crowd, crowd-pleasers win. These are the flavours our customers come back for again and again:
- Belgian chocolate truffle — rich, dark and the safest bet for chocolate lovers. Try our Belgian Truffle Cake.
- Red velvet — soft, gently cocoa-flavoured layers with smooth cream cheese frosting.
- Fresh fruit — light and refreshing, perfect for summer and for guests who do not like very sweet desserts.
- Chocolate Nutella — for the hazelnut fans who want something a little more indulgent.
Can’t decide? A half-and-half cake lets you serve two flavours in a single cake — great when the family is split between chocolate and fruit.
Eggless or with egg?
Most of our cakes can be made eggless without losing their softness, so nobody at the party has to miss out. If even one guest is vegetarian, eggless is the easy, inclusive choice — just select it on the product page or mention it in your order.
Choose the right finish: cream or fondant?
The finish changes both the look and the taste of your cake:
- Whipped cream is light, soft and loved by most guests. It is ideal for classic designs, fresh fruit and simple piping — but it needs to stay cool.
- Ganache gives sharp edges and a glossy chocolate finish, and it handles warm weather better.
- Fondant is the choice for theme cakes, characters and sculpted designs. It holds its shape beautifully, which makes it perfect for detailed decorations.

Order at the right time
Good cakes need a little planning. Classic flavours can often be ready by the next day, but designer and theme cakes need time for planning, baking, setting and decorating. As a rule of thumb:
- Regular cakes: order a day before.
- Designer, photo and theme cakes: order 2–3 days before.
- Tiered and wedding cakes: book a week or more ahead.
Festival weeks like Diwali, Christmas and New Year get busy quickly, so book early to get the delivery slot you want.
Keep it perfect until the cake-cutting
You have chosen the perfect cake — now make sure it looks just as good when it is time to cut it:
- Keep cream cakes refrigerated in their box, and take them out 20–30 minutes before serving for the best texture.
- Carry the box flat, on the floor of the car rather than on a seat, and avoid sudden braking.
- Use a long, sharp knife dipped in hot water and wiped dry for clean, neat slices.
